What is presentation ?

Presentation is a method to transfer your ideas or concepts, or maybe things that you want to share and explain to your audience or listener. It is also a way to to make you become a more confident being to be.
As a designer, we don't only design and sell products, but we have to sell it through our skills as well as our verbal and dialog skills. Learn how to talk and sell our own product while we have chance to present our design.
How to make your product more interesting through presentation? there are few ways that we should underline it.

1.) While presenting your artwork, you are not only go for the points and explain tell why this and this,,,this is this, and that's it. if you do that, then you are making your presentation boring. One of the most important mark during presentation is your FLOW or presenting it, and that is ;

• Your introduction - (short and brief ) The sample or example of the very same product that you are presenting now. Give your audience an idea and remind them of what is existing now in relating to the same product that you are about to recommend them.
• Your content - idea - concept - ( explain your concepts and ideas ) Your concept and idea should something which they never thing or even thought of. Something NEW to them, and surprise them. Something logical and make sense, and they would agree.
• Comparison - ( Compare your design/ideas to the existing design/ideas ) The meaning of compare here is not asking you to lowered others' product/design, but is more like giving your audience the idea or remind them of what they knwo,,,,,,is actually so shallow. Then now i show you what is REAL design, and of course that's your design that you are about to sell to him.
• Conclusion - (short conclusion to give your audience an ending ) Make a conclusion the end your presentation but not just leave your audience pending and hanging. The worse situation is when you are ending it but they are still waiting for the hi peak. Never let that happen in your presentation.

Now, having said all that, of course you have to practice and have confident. YOU must do all the above with full confident and through practice. Now, why we need practice ?

• Practice - it is because some of us find it difficult to explain and present in English. Specially to those chinese educated, you may be scoring an Ace in your SPM in English subject but that doesn't mean you are good in English conversation. That's one of the biggest problem to face. That's why we need to practice, PRACTICE the FLOW of the presentation.
• Do not be Bombastic - Try to be yourself and speak correct English. Try to be yourself means speak and talk in your own ability in using English, do not try to SLANG or BE LIKE American to turn and twist your tongue or even create a BOMBASTIC sentences. WHY? it is because you need to FULLY focus on your presentation furthermore is in English, and that's more than enough to make your mind to control and focus on these basic things. YET you put in more worries and focus point on BOMBASTIC sentences and SLANG English speaking. Can you see? it makes you so busy in your mind while you are about to present, so,,without noticing it,, it will make you freak out and out of focus, clear your mind, black out, blank, no ideas, all the ideas gone, and even present halfway, you stop and lost of ideas and speech.
• Relax - How to relax ? simple, do your practice and know what you are doing in your design. otherwise, you won't be relaxed. That's why practice and preparation is very important.

Why are we scare to do something ? why scare? it is just because we don't have confident in what we are about to do or share. In terms of lost confident? lack of practice and lack of understanding on the objectives.

Here's the deal, if you don't do your practice and be lazy, then I tell you NOW. You won't overcome this problem in presentation, it will always be with you. WHY ? because you are not solving it and not willing to improve and grow. So, if you don't mind you cannot talk and present your artwork in the future, then choose your own choice. Be what you are now and that is, always no confident while standing infront to talk to many people.
